The European standard 378 for refrigeration systems and heat pumps requires in part 2 a sufficient number of stop valves in order to reduce the risk of loss of refrigerant to a minimum. Companion valves of Generation I consist of a pair of mating self-closing stop valves. Their use reliably prevents the escape of refrigerants, especially during maintenance.
Generation I companion valves meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 517/2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases with regard to maximum permissible leak rates of up to 70 couplings and uncouplings.
Seals made of Hydrogenated Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber (HNBR) ensure a wide temperature range and good chemical resistance to refrigerants and refrigeration oils.
Male stop valves with SAE internal threads for flared joints with pressed-in copper sealing ring
and female stop valves with soldering sleeves for pipes with inch diameter.
